Sara Gelser

Sara Acres was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to John and Jo Acres. She got bachelor's degree from Earlham College and master's degree from Oregon State University.

Currently, she lives in Corvallis with her four children.

In the early days of her career, she used to work as a substitute teacher at Richmond Community School. She also indulged herself as a regional coordinator for Oregon Department Training and Information Center, Policy analyst for Oregon Department of Human Service, and as regional coordinator for the Coalition in Oregon for Parent Education.

Gelser has served in the Oregon Legislature since 2005. After her nine years of contribution, she was elected to Oregon State Senate in 2015. She is head of the Senate Human Services Committee and works on the Human Service Budget Committee. 

She serves on the Senate Education Committee, Senate Workforce Committee, and the Senate Conduct Committee.

Her devotion extends to Chair of the House Education Committee for six years, and also nine years of serving on the House Revenue Committee.
