Mary Fallin was born in 1954, December 9. Fallin was graduated from Oklahoma State University and holds bachelors in human and environmental sciences.
Fallin is the daughter of Mary Jo (née Duggan) and her father is Joseph Newton Copeland. She was raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Both of her parents were Democrats and she comes from political family. After 21 she went and chose to be republican herself.
Professional Life
Fallin's professional life took fo when she was just 21 and very active politically, However she has worked for various agencies and state government in oklahoma. Beginning a career in politics, Fallin was elected as House of Representative in 1990. Before that she has worked as a commercial real estate broker and as regional hotel manager.
From 2007-2011, Fallin was elected in the U.S. House of Representatives in Oklahoma's 5th congressional district. In February 2009, Fallin ran for the Republican governor of Oklahoma and won with 54% votes.
Fallin also became second woman to be elected to Congress from Oklahoma after Alice Mary Robertson (1921). Fallin is also Chair of the Aerospace States Association (ASA).
Governor Fallin at 2015 got caught up in Ten Commandments monument controversy which was later removed from Capitol grounds by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Governor Fallin has been honored with memorable mentions such as 1998 Woman of the Year in Government and 1993 Legislator of the Year. Fallin has aslo been inducted into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame
