Beginning a career in politics, Fallin was elected as House of Representative in 1990. Before that she has worked as a commercial real estate broker and as regional hotel manager. From 2007-2011, Fallin was elected in the U.S. House of Representatives in Oklahoma's 5th congressional district. In February 2009, Fallin ran for the Republican governor of Oklahoma and won with 54% votes. Fallin also became second woman to be elected to Congress from Oklahoma after Alice Mary Robertson (1921). Fallin is also Chair of the Aerospace States Association (ASA).
