Tavis Smiley

Tavis Smiley celebrates his birthday on the 13th of September and was born in Gulfport Mississippi in the United States of America in 1964 with Joyce Marie Roberts as his mother.

His mother had gotten pregnant with him when she was only 18 years old and was raising him alone until she married a U.S. Air Force officer, Emory Garnell Smiley. After that, Smiley shifted from his birthplace to Indiana with his mother and stepfather.

For his early education, Smiley was sent to study at Maconaquah High School and after graduating from school, he went on to attend Indiana University Bloomington in order to pursue higher education. He graduated from college in 2003 by earning a Bachelor in Science (B.S.) in Public Affairs.

Smiley has not tied the marital knot with anyone just yet and he has not disclosed any information regarding his recent affairs and relationship status.

Tavis Smiley, before beginning his career in journalism, was a dedicated politician. With a strong determination, he also competed for the seat on the Council of the Los Angeles City Council and campaigned for it as well. He was able to finish fourth.

After this, Smiley began his radio career and began working on the one-minute broadcasted segments The Smiley Report as the radio commentator. He got the opportunity of becoming the commentator on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and kept on progressing forward in his career.

After he was able to establish himself as a confident and reliable media material, he was invited on big news giants including CNN, ABC, and MSNBC to comment on the recent political issues from 1996. Smiley also worked on BET Tonight and tool on the responsibilities of the executive producing and hosting on Black Entertainment Television (BET) Network.

He was refused a contract renewal after BET found out that he had sold a very important interview video to ABC. NPR channel broadcasted Smiley’s show The Travis Smiley Show, which was aired for around 2 years from 2002 to 2004. Smiley also serves on the show The Tavis Smiley Show as a host.

Smiley has created thousands of fans and followers all over the world since he has frequently appeared on some of the most popular news networks ever since his career begun.
