Professional Life
Hendricks was not always enthusiastic about journalism but during one of her journalism courses at Arizona State University, she had been on one of Walter Cronkite’s lectures and it inspired her to truly dedicate her career in journalism. She began her professional life from Comcast Cable in Orange County, California.
Later, she was hired by KESQ stationed at Palm Springs and was assigned to work as the station’s field reporter. She had the opportunity of once again meeting Walter Cronkite and was even able to interview him while she was working at KESQ.
She departed from KESQ and joined the anchoring team at KMIR, an NBC affiliate, where she anchored a two-hour morning show. Progressing forward in her career, Hendricks’ ability as a journalist was recognized and acknowledge by CNN and hired her at CNN Headline News to work as the weekend and primetime news shows anchor in Atlanta.
She handled most of the breaking stories at CNN and also agreed to take over the role of an entertainment correspondent. CNN also had Hendricks as the anchor on its interactive news site at CNN.com. She was shifted to DIRECTV on the interactive news channel.
Hendricks has always been an ambitious woman who has sought great things in life. She was not satisfied with the limited public exposure at DIRECTV which required more work hours as well. Because of this, she made a comeback at the CNN headline News in the September of 2005.
She is currently one of the main anchors on CNN, one of the biggest news networks of the world and she has the potential to climb much further heights.
