Sade Baderinwa : Professional Life
Prior to becoming a part of WABC’s team in 2003, Baderinwa had already worked in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland on WBAL-TV as a news anchor for roughly around 3 years.
She took up the position of Roz Abrams, who had left WABC right at the time Baderinwa had joined the network. She started appearing on the 5 and 11 p.m. shows as the anchor at WCBS-TV. Unluckily, she was a victim of a hit and run accident while she was at Hackensack, New Jersey preparing a report about the local flooding in July 23, 2004. The culprit had breached through the police lines.
But thankfully, she returned to television on Eyewitness News on December 12, 2004, after her recovery, which was definitely not easy; she had to go through months of multiple surgeries and physical therapies.
Baderinwa has also worked as the anchor on the noon broadcasts, partnering with Diana Williams. On October 27, 2006, she made a guest appearance on The View. She moved on to take on the position of co-anchor of the 11 p.m. news along with Bill Ritter.
She had replaced Liz Cho, who had left the slot to anchor another show WABC, for the position. She is currently still working as the anchor on the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news.
