Personal life
Ruth Wendy Langsford, 57, was born on 17th March 1960 in Singapore to father Dennis and mother Joan. She spent her childhood in five different countries including German and four countries in North Africa.
Langsford went to Saltash School in Cornwall (1977-1978).She has a sister named Julia Johnson.
She has been married to fellow TV presenter Eamonn Holmes. In 2002, they had their son, Jack Alexander.
Professional life
Langsford began her professional career in South West England as announcer and newscaster in ITV regional station TSW. When the station's franchise was taken by West Country Television in the year 1993, she gave up on working with it.
From 1999-2002, she worked as a regular panelist on ITV's daytime chat show, Loose Women. She made a comeback to the show in 2010 as the stand-in anchor. She continued in the post till 2013.On 8th January 2014, she rejoined Loose Women as the regular anchor.
Ruth was also one of the main presenters on the now defunct TV Travel Shop which was on air from April 1998 to March 2005
In 2014, Eamonn Holmes and Langsford co-hosted 10 episodes of the ITV teatime quiz show called 'Gift Wrapped.'
Since 2015, Ruth and her husband Holmes have presented Channel 5 series 'How the Other Half Lives,' a second series airing in 2016.
In February 2017, alongside Jackie Kabler, she started co-presenting Ruth Langsford's ' Fashion Edit'.
