Rebecca Romijn was born on 6 November 1972 in Barkley, California, the United States of America. She is the daughter of Jaap Romijn and Elizabeth Romijn. Her father Jaap's hometown is Barneveld, the Netherlands whereas mother Elizabeth was a native of America.
Rebecca mother was a text author and Community College instructor of English as a Second Language. On the other hand, her father was a custom furniture maker. They both met in the Netherlands when Elizabeth at her young age was a there on a student exchange program.
She studied Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz. While studying there she involved herself in fashion modeling and later moved to Paris and lived there for many years. Talking about her married life she has twice married, first with John Stamos and later with Jerry O'Connell.
Rebecca started dating John Stamos, an actor, in the year 1994. They first met at a fashion show organized by Victoria Secret when Rebecca was modeling. This loving pair then got engaged on Christmas Eve of 1997 and eventually tied a knot on 19 September 1998 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. They, however, got separated as her husband John filed for divorce, their divorce was finalized on 1st March 2005.
She started to date Jerry O'Connell in 2004 and got engaged on September 2005. They exchanged their marriage vow on 14 July 2007 at their home located in Calabasas, California. Currently, they are living with their children, twin daughters, Dolly Rebecca-Rose O'Connell and Charlie Tamara-Tulip O'Connell on 28 December 2008.
Professional Life
Rebecca Romijn initiated her modeling career in 1991; she appeared on the covers of Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Esquire, and GQ in different nations. She also did many campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, La Senza, Escada, Liz Claiborne, Maybelline, Furla, Victoria's Secret, Got Milk? Miller and so on.
Later Rebecca walked for Sonia Rykiel, Anna Molinari, and Giorgio Armani. She also got the chance to host the MTV's House of Style for two years, from 1998 to 2000. Rebecca was listed as world's most beautiful women by AskMen.com (2001-2003, 2005-2006), Maxim (2003-2007) and FHM (2000-2005). She could also be seen as a guest for an animated talk show 'Space Ghost to Coast'.
She then got her first major role in the 2000's 'X-Men' as Mystique. Rebecca was again seen on the sequel 'X2' and 'X-Men: The Last Stand' in 2006. She got her other main role in Femme Fatale in 2002 and other movies like The Punisher, Godsend, and Rollerball. Later she was seen in a short-lived TV series on The WB Television Network as Pepper Dennis. She became the regular cast of 'Ugly Betty', a series on ABC, as Alexis Meade.
'Carpoolers' was her next stop where Rebecca played the character of Laird, as a guest, the ex-wife of her real husband Jerry O'Connell. She also gave her work for the live-action show on the Adult Swim 'NTSF: SD: SUV' for two seasons as Jessie a lab worker. Currently, she is playing the role of Eve Baird for the spin-off of 'The Librarian' film named 'The Librarians' and also host the GSN's original series and reality show 'Skin Wars'
