Rachel Maddow was born on April 1, 1973, in Castro Valley, California. She is the daughter of former US Air Force Captain, Robert B. Maddow, and Elaine, administrator of the school program. She along with her brother was raised by Catholic Family in a very conservative locality.
Maddow graduated her High school from Castro Valley High School. And for the university, she attended Stanford University from which she graduates in public policy in 1994. At her graduation ceremony, she was honored with John Gardner Fellowship.
Barbara Maddow in 1995 attended Lincoln College, Oxford for her post-graduate study. She has received Doctor of Philosophy in politics from Oxford University. Her thesis titled HIV/ AIDS and Health Care Reform in American and British Prisons was supervised by Lucia Zender.
Rachel Maddow is a lesbian and hasn’t married any guy. She and her partner Susan Mikula are staying together since 1999, but are not in terms of getting married anytime soon. Rachel Maddow began her professional career as a radio host in 1999 on WRNX (100.9 FM). For two years Maddow was a host of Big Breakfast on WRSI.
Later in 2004, she joined new Air America to host ‘Unfiltered’. After the cancellation of her show ‘Unfiltered’, Rachel became the host of ‘The Rahel Maddow Show’ airing 2 hour weekday. Later the show was extended to three hours but with Maddow’s MSNBC television show the program returned to its original slot.

She became a continuous panelist of MSNBC famous show ‘Tucker’. Maddow was invited on CNN’s ‘Paula Zahn Now’ throughout 2006 election. Maddow also was a columnist for ‘The Advocate Newsmagazine’. In January 2008, MSNBC promoted Maddow as a political analyst as well as a regular panelist of ‘Race for the White House’. She also contributed in Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
In 2008, Maddow was hired as standby host for Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Her work was highly praised by Keith Olbermann resulting her as a permanent anchor of the show. Among the news program, Maddow’s show was top rated. In 2008, Maddow alongside David Gregory hosted Race for the White House.
In 2008, Olbermann recommended Maddow for Dan Abram’s 9 p.m. time slot following which she earned the slot. Maddow’s debut show was top rated on MSNBC and was positively reviewed. Maddow also received technical advice from Fox News Roger Ailes.
During the presidential election in May 2017, MSNBC ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ topped as highest-rated show and became a no.1 show on the cable network.
