Pamela Martin

Despite her nationality, Martin was born in the United States of America in Detroit, Michigan in 1953. Her exact birth date, however, is still unknown. She completed her early schooling in the state of Texas in the US and for higher level of education, she attended and graduated from the State University in Huntsville Texas.

Martin tied the marital knot with the love of her life, John Haibeck. The couple has been blessed with two beautiful children and the family currently resides in Vancouver.

The gorgeous Martin was also crowned as Miss Teen USA back in 1968.

Martin was focused on her career from an early age and right after graduating from college, she immigrated to British Columbia in order to begin pursuing journalism.

She took up the position of co-host and producer at Victoria’s CHEK-TV in 1975. She moved on to work as a reporter at Vancouver’s CKNW AM 980 and with that she achieved the milestone of becoming the station’s first female reporter.

After her time in CKNW AM 980, she was hired by BCTV in 1977 and served at the station for 24 years. Almost a silver jubilee of service! She decided to leave BCTV and went on to join CTV British Columbia. On 7th December, 2010, Martin announced her resignation from the position of anchor on CTV News Vancouver. Her co-host Bill Good accompanied her by resigning himself as well.

Martin became a part of the campaign team of Christy Clerk team for the British Columbia Liberal Party Leadership race replacing another television reporter. She was eventually name as the party leader on March 14, 2011. Two years later, in the September of 2013, she was chosen as the director of engagement for the British Columbia Liberal party, so that she could be involved in a campaign for Clark in the May 2014 election.

Martin has also appeared on multiple movies including Touch and Go (1980), The Accused (1988), He Said, She Said (1991), TimeCop (1994), Life or Something Like It (2002).

Surprisingly, a successful journalist such as Martin hasn’t expanded her social media reach. She uses only one of the numerous social networking site i.e. Twitter.

She is available on the site at @pamelamartin_bc and currently has around 4.4 thousand followers only. Martin had joined the site in February 2009 and has posted only 1.7 thousand times until now.

The successful journalist in her mid 60s has had a long and prosperous career so far. As a skilled, calm and collected reporter and anchor, Martins was paid around $130 thousand per year.

Her net worth is estimated to be around $15 million; an astonishingly large number.
