Michelle Gielan first opened her eyes in New York, United States of America. She spent her childhood growing up there and in Bethesda, Md. To pursue higher education, she attended the Tufts University and graduated cum laude by earning a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Engineering.
Later, she moved to Australia and enrolled at the University of Sydney after which she completed her further education at UCLA and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Michelle Gielan: Professional Life, Career
Michelle Gielan, at the beginning of her career, worked in Boston and London as a software engineer. She is a well known former journalist who worked for the prestigious news giant CBS News. She joined the network on the 21st of July in 2008 and was assigned to work on the show CBS Morning News as the show’s anchor. She was also given responsibility as one of the network’s correspondents.
It has not exactly been revealed from where Gielan began her professional career in journalism, but during the early years of her career, she was working with Channel One stationed at Los Angeles as the station’s freelancing reporter somewhere around 2003.
After that, she moved on to work for KTSM-TV stationed at El Paso, Texas as the station’s morning anchor in 2004 and worked there until 2005. While she was working here, she managed to cover the bombings of 2004 in London underground life. She was the one to disclose the secret list of police officers alleged of misuse of authority and brutality; officers who belonged to the Chicago Police Department. In the October of 2005, Gielan joined WFLD-TV at Chicago in order to work as a substitute anchor and reporter.
It was only after that she established herself as a dedicated journalist, exceptionally skilled at what she did, that she joined CBS News in 2008.
After her a successful and fruitful journalism career, Gielan moved on to become a psychology researcher and went on to write a book titled Broadcasting Happiness, which became a best-seller.
Gielan is also known for founding the Institute of Applied Positive Research.
