Mia Swier

Mia was born on the 1st of September in 1985 in Alabama. Her father, under the stage name Laszlo Von Glitz, worked as a painter. She attained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from New York University in 2007.

Swier also interned for Saturday Night Live while attending New York Film Academy. In 2010, she began dating the Glee star, Darren Criss. The couple is currently engaged. 

Mia’s career had already begun from college. While studying Media Studies and Television Production at Steinhardt School at New York University, she got the opportunity to work with various networks including ABC, NBC and USA Network.

In 2009, she started a Film Production Company called Effin Media with co-founder Dan Bricker. Effin Media sent a couple of co-written and self-directed movies such as “A (Not So) Civil Union”, “Somewhere Between” and many more.

But her impressive career is only starting to rise at this point. She went on to work with popular TV programs such as Saturday Night Live, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, The Tony Awards, The Daytime Emmy-Awards, The Super Bowl, The Thanksgiving Day Parade, The NFL Kickoff, The Tony Danza Show, Nashville Star and One Life to Life. Pretty mind-blowing, right? Well, aside from her writing and producing, Mia Swier is also a great musician.

To be specific, she is a rock and roll bassist and vocalist. In 2009, she started her own alt-punk garage rock band “Shoot the Freak”, with band members Garret Cillo, Alberto Duhau and Devon Johnson.

Even though the band members went their own ways in 2012, she was not done with music and thus, started another band Gun n’ Hoses, an all-girl Guns n’ Roses tribute band with band members Charlene  Kaye, Erin Marsz, Emmy Wildwood and Gina Ilasi.

Unlike her fiancée Darren Criss, Swier is not really active on her Instagram account. But her Twitter account has a lot of followings. Available on twitter as @MiaVonGlitz, she has tweeted 6100 times and currently has 17.8 thousand followers and 638 likes.

The couple Darren Criss and Mia Swier are finally opening up about their long-anticipated engagement and said that, after seven years of dating, it “was a long time coming”.

Swier’s fiancée Criss uploaded their photo on his Instagram and Twitter on January writing, “Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together. And I’m happy to announce that we’re kicking those adventures up a notch. We’re going for it. To boldly go where neither of us has gone before. Engage.”
