After Bello moved to New York City, she started appearing in a TV series like The Commish’, ‘Due South’, ‘Nowhere Man’ ‘Misery Loves Company’, and ‘ER’. Following the success of the series, she landed in a role of Mrs. Smith on CBS series ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’. Although the series was aired only for eight weeks Bello’s acting impact was so huge that she immediately got a notable role in ‘ER’, a medical drama series.
Mario Bello made her acting debut from David Veloz movie ‘Permanent Midnight’ in 1998. Later that year she acted in a crime film ‘Payback’. But her best was yet to come in comedy-drama film Coyote Ugly. The movie nailed it in terms of box office and her career took a U-turn.
In the following years, Bello starred in a number of movies including ‘Duets’(2000), ‘China: The Panda Adventure’(2001), ‘Auto Focus’(2002), ‘The Cooler’(2003), ‘Silver City’(2004), ‘Secret Window’(2004), and ‘Assault on Precinct 13’(2005).
In 2005, Maria Bello appeared in David Cronenberg ‘History of Violence’, a crime thriller film. The movie did perform well in terms of business but her performance was hugely appreciated. She did not stop here and appeared in numerous other movies like ‘The Dark’ (2005), ‘Thank You for Smoking’ (2006), ‘The Sisters’ (2006), ‘Flicka’ (2006), and ‘World Trade Center’(2006).
In 2007, Bello starred in a lead role of Jocelyn in a romantic drama film ‘Jane Austen Book Club’. The movie received mixed reviews from critics and failed to stand high in the box office. In that same year, Bello appeared in Alan Ball ‘Towelhead’ and Mike Barker ‘Butterfly on a Wheel’.
Her next was a recurring role of Nancy Stockwell in 2008 drama film ‘Downloading Nancy’. In 2008 Bello alongside Brendan Fraser starred in the sequel of Mummy titled ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ replacing Rachel Weisz. And later in 2009, she acted in ‘The Private Lives of Pippa Lee’.
In 2010, Bello strikes a balance between her TV works and movie commitments. She appeared in ‘The Company Men’ and ‘Grown Ups’ and at the same time she also acted in two episodes of NBC crime drama series ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’.
Bello’s dates were full of jam packed in 2011 as she had three movies in a row; ‘Beautiful Boy’, ‘Abduction’, and ‘Carjacked’. She also appeared in the remake of British TV drama series ‘Prime Suspect’. Similarly, in 2013, she added three more movies to her acting career ‘Grown Ups 2’, ‘Prisoners’ and ‘Third Person’ & a television series ‘Touch’.
Next, Maria Bello acted in numerous of other movies such as ‘Big Driver’, ‘Demonic’, ‘Bravetown’, ‘The Confirmation’, ‘Lights Out’, ‘The Late Bloomer’ and ‘Max Steel’. In 2016, she starred in a lead role of Jean in Dominic James directorial venture ‘Wait Till Helen Comes’. Her recent TV shows include ‘Goliath’ and ‘The Walking Dead’.
She has a number of other projects that are lined up to release in 2018. Her movies ‘Monumental’ and ‘Undying’ are almost ready to hit the theater. She is also filming Michael Sucsy ‘Every Day’.
