Lindsay Czarniak : Personal Life
Lindsay Czarniak was born on November 7, 1977, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She, at the age of five, along with her family moved to Northern Virginia. She studied at Centreville High School and was a player of lacrosse and field hockey.
Growing up with a journalist father she chose journalism as her career in her later life. Her father Chet Czarniak served in a sports department for a local newspaper for 17 years. She was a sports fan since her early age and the craze to be a journalist like her father she graduated within online journalism as her major from James Madison University in 2000.
Lindsay Czarniak's husband is also sportscaster. Her husband Craig Melvin is a WRC-TV reporter and weekend anchor. They married on October 15, 2011, in Washington. This couple welcomed their first baby, a son, in 2014 and their second baby, a daughter, in 2016.
Lindsay Czarniak : Professional Career
Lindsay Czarniak first started as an intern for WUSA. She then worked as a production assistant for the CNN. Working there she reported for WAWS (Jacksonville), WTEV-TV (Jacksonville), WTVJ (Miami), and the Speed Channel.
Later she joined NBC4 as returning to Washington in 2005. In September 2006, she was announced as an official co-host of 'The George Michael Sports Machine'. As her task, she traveled to Italy to cover the '2006 Winter Olympics'. The following year, after George Michael left NBC4, Lindsay and Dan Hellie became the co-sports anchor.
Lindsay also became the first sports reporter to interview Washington Redskins after the death of Sean Taylor, an American Player. In 2008 she reported for 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China for NBC.
On 23 June 2011, she decided to leave NBC 4 Washington to joined ESPN. She then started her coverage for SportsCenter for the evening's preseason football games. After a year she got the position of co-host for the 6 pm SportsCenter show. Again in 2013 Lindsay replaced Brent Musburger and became the host of the 2013 Indianapolis 500. She became the first woman who hosted the telecast.
