Linda Church: Birth, Education, Family
Church, who celebrates her birthday on the 12th of June, was born in Florida, United States of America in 1960. She was academically impressive since an early age.
For her early education, she attended Los Angeles School and later pursued bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida after graduating from high school. After earning her Bachelor’s degree she went for post-graduation by attending the University of New Haven.
The lucky man to tie the marital knot with Church was none other than Jim Dolan, a reporter at WABC. The couple has been blessed with two beautiful children – a daughter, Colleen, and a son Paul John Dolan. Sadly, the marriage didn’t last and they got divorced.
However, they tried to give their marriage another shot so that their children could have a proper family but it did not work out the second time either and they had to get divorced again.
Linda Church: Professional Career
Church took the first steps in her professional career from broadcast channels in Gainesville, Florida after which she went to work at Cleveland, followed by New Haven and Charleston.
Church had managed to establish herself as a dedicated journalist in a short period of time and was hired by WNBC in New York in 1987. She worked at the station for three years after which Church joined WPIX PIX11 where she was assigned to work as a weekend weather presenter and anchored on the weather report in Morning News.
She took up the job of a co-host on the program Summer Fun for Kids partnering with her ex-coworker, Mat Garcia in 2003. She co-hosted the same show in the July of 2007 alongside Craig Treadway. Church has also served at the Wakeup Workout session leading the whole section during her time at WPIX.
In her career, Church has worked with many big news stations including WCBS, where she was responsible to present the weather, and a Flagship station of NBC. Church has also been employed for part-time jobs on other big news networks like Fox 5 and CNN.
Church has made appearances on the 1988 movie Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 2009 movie Incest Death Squad.
After a long and prosperous career, Church made the announcement on the 20th of January 2017 that she was going to retire.
