Personal Life
Lawrence Gerard Nassar, aka Larry Nassar, was born on August 16, 1963, to Fred and Mary Nassar in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
He started working as an athletic trainer for the women’s gymnastics team in North Farmington High School in 1978 after receiving the assignment from his older brother, Mike, who was also an athletic trainer in the same school.
After graduating from North Farmington High School in 1981, Nassar continued his studies as he pursued an undergraduate degree in kinesiology in the University of Michigan all the while working with the university’s football and track and field teams.
On 19th October 1996, he tied the knot with Stephanie Lynn Anderson in a church in East Lansing, eventually ending up with two daughters and one son.
Their marriage lasted until July 2017 when Stephanie was granted a divorce from her jailed child molesting husband and was able to gain full custody of their three children.
Professional Life
Professionally, Nassar began working for the USA Gymnastics national team in 1986. In 1988, he started working at Twistars with John Geddert. Nassar graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Michigan State University of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993.
After that, he went to St. Lawrence hospital to complete his residency training in family practice. After completing a fellowship sports medicine and starting to work MSU’s Department of Family and Community Medicine in the College of Medicine, Nassar began earning $100,000 annually. Then from 1996 to 2014, Larry Nassar held the position of a national medicinal doctor for the USA Gymnastics.
In 2015, the USA Gymnastics fired Nassar after certain athletic concerns and Michigan State fired him in 2016 after it was disclosed that he was accused of sexually assaulting two former gymnasts. In an interview in “60 minutes” in the February of 2017, three former gymnasts revealed that they were sexually abused by Nassar.
They stated that Nassar was able to take advantage of the girls in the emotionally abusive environment of the national team training camp. Similarly, Olympic Gold medalist Aly Raisman also stated in an interview with “60 minutes” that Nassar has sexually abused her when she was 15 years old.
Over the recent years, there are numerous cases of former and current gymnasts, especially girls, being sexually assaulted by Nassar and he has committed such atrocities on both federal and national levels.
In December 2016, Nassar was arrested after the FBI found more than 37000 images of child pornography along with videos of Nassar molesting young women.
On July 11, 2017 Nassar pleaded guilty for possession of materials of child pornography and tampering with evidence and afterwards on December 7, 2017, he was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison.

Former USA Gymnastics national team doctor Larry Nassar, father to two daughters, accused and found guilty of serial sexual assaults on underage girls, was sentenced to a third prison term of 40 to 125 years in prison for molesting athletes in Michigan training center.
Judge Janice Cunningham stated that Nassar’s actions have “robbed these girls and women of one of the most truly important human qualities: trust.”
'I ended up delivering unknowingly all three of my daughters to a demon that had his own personal twisted, sick agenda. I'll never forgive that guy,' stated a father, Randall Margraves, whose daughters were victimized by Nassar’s misconducts.
