Jonathan David Karl was born on the 19th of January in the United States of America in 1968. He was always enthusiastic about journalism and history and Karl thanks his parents for inspiring him about these topics when they were orally recoding the testimonies of the workers who had sculpted Mount Rushmore.
To pursue higher education, Karl attended Vassar College at Poughkeepsie, New York and graduated from the Phi Beta Kappa sorority.

Karl had already planted the seeds of his professional life when he was still in college. He worked for the Vassar Spectator as the Editor-in-Chief in 1990 and gained a lot of experience before officially beginning his career.
Her started out from The New Republic where he worked as a reporter, researching on current stories. He also worked with the New York Post as the newspaper’s Investigative Reporter. He was exceptionally good at what he did and his research and reporting works were top-tier stuffs. So he was hired by CNN in order to work as the network’s Congressional Correspondent.
In the January of 2003, Karl departed from CNN and began working at ABC News where he was assigned to handle the responsibility of the Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent. He covered major political stories going on across the country and because of the impressive and top quality of his works, he quickly progressed in his career, being promoted to the position of the Senior National Security Correspondent at ABC in the December of 2005.
Recognized magazines including The Weekly Standard, The Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal, and The New Republic Reason have public Karl’s writings and brought in a lot of readers.
Karl has written the book “The Right to Bear Arms: The Rise of America’s New Militias” and has made appearances on the shows Good Morning America, This Week With George Stephanopoulos and World News with Diane Sawyer.
He was honored with the Joan Shorenstein Barone Award in 2011 for the praiseworthy reporting he did while he was at Washington, D.C. Karl has also won the Walter Cronkite Award for National Individual Achievement in 2013 and was awarded with an Emmy Award in 2009 for the outstanding coverage he performed during Barack Obama’s Presidential Inauguration.
He has also been honored with the Everett McKinley Dirksen Award by the National Press Foundation in 2001.
