John Dickerson: Personal Life
He was grew up in Mclean, Virginia. His parents got divorced in 1981 and he lived with his father. He went to get an education at the Sidwell Friends School and got graduated from there in 1987. He also attended the University of Virginia and earned a degree in English with the distinction.
He is the son of C. Wyatt Dickerson and wife Nancy Dickerson Whitehead. John also has four other siblings among whom three are sisters and one is a brother.

Prior to joining the Slate, John had covered the politics at the Time Magazine for twelve years. During his last four years, he served as the White House Correspondent. He had interviewed George W. Bush five times since his election in the year 2000.
He also co-wrote the Time Cover stories in 2000 and 2004 which was named as George Bush Time’s Person of The Year. The Washington Post also wrote about John’s talent in 2004. Previous to that, Dickerson also covered the Capitol Hill where he reported on Gingrich Congress, Senate trial of President Clinton and House Impeachment Proceedings.
Before covering the Congress, he also wrote about the economics providing the analysis on the entitlements, budget process as well as taxes. He also covered campaigns of Bob Dole, Steve Forbes, and Lamar Alexander during 1996 national election.
