Seth Meyers is an American television host for the show Late Night with Seth Meyers and he is also a radio personality, writer, political commentator, producer, actor, and media critic. Previously he worked as a Radio DJ and also co-founded record label company for producing music videos and sound recordings. He is an Emmy award winner for his music production who has won several rewards for his writing too.

Personal Life

 

Seth Meyers was born on the 22 June 1973 in Evanston, Illinois, United States of America. He spent his first few year in Evanston and moved to Okemos, Michigan with his family when he was four. Later Carson again moved to Bedford, New Hampshire at the age of 10.

Seth was born to working parents, his father, Laurence Meyers Jr., worked in a finance company and mother, Hilary Claire, was a teacher of French language. The other member of his family was his brother Josh Meyers and his grandfather. According to the wiki, his parental grandfather belonged to Jewish community and grandmother ancestors were from part the Czech Republic and Austria.

He attended the Manchester High School West in New Hampshire before that he was in Edgewood Elementary located in Okemos. Seth graduated from the Northwestern University, Evanston. There, he was an active member of fraternity Phi Gamma Delta.

Talking about his love relationship he is married to wife Alexi Ashe. They had a love affair for almost five years before they were engaged in July 2013. Wife Alexi Ashe is a human rights lawyer. This loving couple got married on 1 September 2013 on Martha's Vineyard. Currently, they have a son, Ashe Olson Meyers, who was born on 27 March 2016.

 

Professional career

Seth Meyers joined the SNL cast in the year 2001. Before being on SNL he had already started his improve comedy career when he was the member of the Northwestern University in a improves sketch group. He also worked together with his brother Josh in an Amsterdam based improve troupe. He was then promoted to the writing supervisor in 2005 and late in January of 2006, he became a co-head writer.

Seth also appeared in the 2008 3D movie named Journey to the Center of the Earth with Anita Briem and Brendan Fraser. in 2004 he starred in a comedy movie 'See This Movie; with John Cho. The same year he auditioned for 'Weekend Update' however failed. Tina Fey became the co-anchor of the show and later as she left the show he was made the head writer for the 'Weekend Update' 2006-2007 season.

In 2010 and 2011 people saw Seth at the ESPY Awards on ESPN and in 2011 April he was the speaker for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. In the SNL show, he has done mimics of different figures like Anderson Cooper, Prince Charles, Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, Stone Phillips, Wade Robson, and many others.

On 12th May of 2013, NBC announced that Seth would be a new host of the Late Night in 2014 succeeding Jimmy Fallon. The same year on 25th April, NBC, as well as the TV Academy, announced that he would be the host of 66th Primetime Emmy Award on 25th August of 2014.

Seth Meyers on 12 May 2013, after succeeding Jimmy Fallon, became the new host of the Late Night Show which has very good ratings. He assured his role on the show on 24 February 2014. He was also seen shirtless in the Late Night show. During that period he also announced that he has become the member of 'The 8G Band' which is his house band with his former SNL member Fred Armisen.
