Savannah Guthrie who is an American journalist as well as attorney was born on 27th December, 1971. She is currently working for the NBC News. She was born in Melbourne, Australia while her father was stationed there for the work. As a child, she was named as Savannah Clark Guthrie. It is the name that was named for her great grandmother. After two years, her family returned back to Unites States and moved at Tucson, Arizona.
She attended Amphitheater High School located in Tucson and got graduated from there. Later, she went on to join the University of Arizona and from there, she received an undergraduate degree in the journalism as well as also graduated cum laude in the year 1993. During that time, she was also the member of Arizona Alpha chapter of the Pi Beta Phi. She has also earned herself a law degree from the Georgetown University.
At the beginning of her broadcasting career, she started from the KMIZ in Columbia, Missouri which is the affiliate of ABC. In KMIZ, Savannah worked for two years. She then returned back to the Tucson and started to do the job in KVOA in 1995. It is the affiliate of NBC. Spending five years in Arizona, she then joined the WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. During her tenure there, Guthrie covered several major stories which also includes the attack on the Pentagon, September 11, 2001 and 2001 anthrax attacks.
She practiced law with Gump, Akin, Hauer, Feld and Strauss from 2002 till 2003 and got specialized n the white-collar criminal defense. Guthrie then again returned to television journalism as legal affairs correspondent for the Court TV in the year 2004. She then again made her comeback to NBC in 2007 as legal correspondent. The following year, she became the NBC’s White House Correspondent till the year 2011. In addition to that, she has also co-anchored The Daily Rundown that aired on the MSNBC in 2010 and 2011.
It was in June of 2011 when Savannah was hired by The Today Show as a co-host of third hour and chief legal correspondent. Later that year, she became the co-anchor of Today by replacing Ann Curry. During her fist day in Today, her co-anchor Matt Lauer gave an enthusiastic welcome to her and also said to the audience that Guthrie has a great attitude as well as weird sense of humor.
To talk about her personal life, Guthrie is a married woman. She has married twice and divorced once. She is now married to her second husband Michael Feldman who is a democratic political and the communications consultant. The couple got engaged in May of the year 2012 while they were in vacation on Turks and Caicos. Later, they got married on 15th March 2014. Two days later, Guthrie announced that she was four months pregnant with the baby of Feldman. Savannah then gave birth to their first child, a daughter on 13th August 2014 in New York City Hospital and she was named Vale Guthrie Feldman. Previous to that, Guthrie was married to Mark Orchard who is BBC News presenter. They married with each other in December of 2005 and got divorced in the year 2009. Currently, she is residing in Washington, D.C. with her family.
Apart from that, Guthrie is now at the age of 42 but she has still managed to look young and beautiful. She stands tall at the height of six feet and she is afraid of frogs.
