Sally Nugent, an English journalist, currently works for the BBC News. She is a native of Wirral Peninsula. She was born on 5th August 1971. Nugent attended Upton Hall School FCJ. She then went on to join the University of Huddersfield from where she got graduated with Bachelor of Arts in a Communications arts and French. Nugent was raised up in the house where her dad and brothers used to play rugby while her mother was a tennis coach.

Nugent started her broadcast journalism career working at the local radio station called BBC Radio Merseyside. She then joined the BBC North West Tonight where she reported on as well as read the sports news. Nugent was then hired by the BBC News Broadcast Network in the year 2003.

She then hosted ‘Sports Day’ program as a component of BBC’s reporting of 2006 World Cup from Germany. Nugent now appears on the BBC News notice and national bulletins. In addition to that, Nugent has also spent some of her time on TV and radio as a news correspondent. She was also a relief presenter for the BBC News Channel. Nugent began to co-present the ‘BBC Breakfast’ in November of 2011 on a ‘relief’ basis.
She used to fill up when the regular hosts were not available. Since April of the year 2012, when the program moved to the new home at the Media City in the Salford, Nugent has been presenting the sports bulletins along with Mike Bushell on the Breakfast. Nugent is the main relief presenter of the show and she has also presented the show on the 2012 Christmas Eve together with Bill Turnbull.
