Rachel Riley was born on 11 January 1986 in Rochford, Essex, England. She along with her brother was raised by an accountant father Christopher Riley and mother Celia Riley. Riley first attended Thorpe Hall School. And for high school, she attended Southend High School for Girls from which she scored As at A-Level. Later she joined Oriel College in Oxford from which Riley gained an upper second-class honors degree in mathematics. Due to her high interest in mathematics and engineering, she also considered doing a post-graduate degree and master’s degree in concrete.
Rachel Riley was first married to Jamie Gilbert for 15 months. At the end of 2009, the couple decided to break their marriage. On 11 January 2011, Gilbert proposed Riley on her 25th birthday and after one and half year the couple tied the knot. In November 2013 it was publicly announced that the couple is separating.
Rachel Riley is currently dating ‘Strictly’ dancer partner Pasha Kovalev. In her interview, she cleared it out that ‘Strictly’ was not the reason for her separation. She is trying to learn the Russian language so that she can better communicate with Kovalev family whose first language is Russian.

Rachel Riley : Career and Professional Life
Rachel Riley first joined a Deutsche Bank in London during her university vacation. Then she served a price comparison start-up company as a statistical analyst.
In January 2009, Riley debuts her television career with a game show named ‘Countdown’ on Channel 4. Before the show, Riley had no experience and working ideas with the television industry.
Riley, however, was oozing with confidence with her glamorous looks and her dressing style is highly praised in the show. She just stood out in every dress she wears.
As she frequently appeared on ‘Countdown’ her fame grew up and she started co-presenting different shows including ‘The Gadget Show’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’.
On ‘Countdown’ Carol Vorderman was replaced by Riley with a role to find out the solution if the participants are unable to do so. She was hired at the same time when Jeff Stelling was announced as a new host.
In the beginning of January 2009, Riley and Stelling was the host of new series. Riley was so obsessed with solving the puzzles that she used to take it home if she couldn’t get it on the set.
On January 2, 2012, Rachel Riley alongside Jimmy Carr was starred in the ‘8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ similar role with that of ‘Countdown’. The show was focused more on humour.
Later Riley was replaced by Claudia Winkleman due to the scheduling disputes with shooting for ‘It’s Not Rocket Science’
Rachel Riley also performed on BBC One dancing show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ from September 2013. In the show, Riley was paired up with professional dancer ‘Pasha Kovalev’.
In week 6 of the program, Riley was disqualified from the show after losing against Aljaz Skorjanec and Abbey Clancy.
From 2013 to 2014, Riley was the co-presenter of ‘The Gadget Show’ on Channel 5 later being replaced by Amy Williams.
In 2016 Riley alongside Romesh Ranganathan and Ben Miller were the presenters of ITV’s ‘It’s Not Rocket Science’.
In August 2016, Sky Sports announced that Riley is the new presenter of ‘Friday Night Football’ alongside Jeff Stelling and ‘Fantasy Football Club’ with Paul Merson and Max Rushden.
On June 26, 2009, Rachel Riley was reportedly hired by Royal Mail with a role to advise the holidaymakers on how to spend their holiday currency. However numerous holidaymakers overspend their vacation budgets failing to calculate the exact cost of goods and services
