Olivier Rousteing started his career at Roberto Cavalli. After completing his graduation from the ESMOD, he started his career as a designer at the Roberto Cavalli. Later, he was promoted to the head of Italian label’s women’s ready to wear collection.

There, he served for five years as a creative director. After that, he joined the Balmain in the year 2009. During his time there, he used to work closely with Christophe Decarnin who is the creative director of the French Fashion since 2006.

When Olivier was 24 years old, he replaced Christophe Decarnin on 26th April of the year 2011 as a creative director for Balmain. While liking the aesthetic of Decarnin, Olivier wanted to orient the labels towards finer aspects of the French couture.
