Lara Spencer : Personal Life
Lara Spencer also serves as a correspondent for the Nightline and ABC News. Lara is the native of Garden City, New York, United States. Although she is known as Lara Spencer, her official named that was given at the time of her birth was Lara Christine Von Seelen. She went to Garden City High School and completed her schooling from there.
She then went on to join the Pennsylvania State University on an Athletic Scholarship for the springboard and the platform diving and she was also nationally ranked competitive diver. In the year 1991, Lara was named All-American Athlete and later she got graduated with the degree in broadcast journalism. After completing her graduation, Lara began her career working in the NBC Page Program. There she volunteered for working with other reporters for gaining the experience.

Shortly after that, she moved to WDEF-TV, she was literally a one-man band and served as a producer, reporter, cameraman, editor as well as news van driver. After a year, Spencer joined the News 12 Long Island. Two years after that, she began to anchor the 3 am newscast or the WABC-TV. During her tenure there, Lara covered TWA Flight 800 crash. The coverage was considered as her big break. Later in the year 1999, she was hired by ABC’s Good Morning America as a national correspondent.
Prior to that, she was also the creator as well as executive producer of a primetime game show called “It's Worth What?” which was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The show was aired during summer of the year 2011 on NBC. In addition to that, she has created and also produced two shows that are based on the passions for her interior designing. The shows were one-hour specials that were titled “I Brake for Yard Sales that was originally aired in April of 2012.
Her first book was published as well as released in April 2012 and it was titled “I Brake for Yard Sale” which was a guide on how to create a high end looking rooms using the second-hand finds. Later on 16th September 2014, her second book titled Flea Market Fabulous: designing gorgeous rooms with vintage treasures was published and released. The book was a guide to designing the rooms

Lara is married to her loving and understanding husband David Haffenreffer who was a journalist at the CNN. The couple got married to each other on 31st September of the year 2000 at the St. Andres’s Church in Southampton, New York. Lara and David are proud parents of two children, a son, and a daughter. She gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named David in 2002 and later in 2004, she again gave birth to her second child, a daughter and named her Katharine. They have completed 14 years of their marriage and recently broke up.
