John Dickerson who is an American journalist was born in the year 1968. He is the native of Washington, D.C., United States. He is the chief political correspondent for the Slate Magazine and the political director of the CBS News. He is the son of C. Wyatt Dickerson and wife Nancy Dickerson Whitehead. John also has four other siblings among whom three are sisters and one is a brother. He was grown up in Mclean, Virginia. His parents got divorced in 1981 and he lived with his father. He went to get education at the Sidwell Friends School and got graduated from there in 1987. He also attended the University of Virginia and earned a degree in English with the distinction.

Prior to joining the Slate, John had covered the politics at the Time Magazine for twelve years. During his last four years, he served as the White House Correspondent. He had interviewed George W. Bush for five times since his election in the year 2000. He also co-wrote the Time Cover stories in 2000 and 2004 which was named as George Bush Time’s Person of The Year. The Washington Post also wrote about John’s talent in 2004.

Previous to that, Dickerson also covered the Capitol Hill where he reported on Gingrich Congress, Senate trial of the President Clinton and House Impeachment Proceedings. Before covering the congress, he also wrote about the economics providing the analysis on the entitlements, budget process as well as taxes. He also covered campaigns of Bob Dole, Stave Forbes and Lamar Alaxander during 1996 national election.

He book entitled On Her Trail which is about his relationship with his late mother Nancy, a pioneering TV newswoman was published in the year 2006 by Simon and Schuster. In addition to that, he has also written extensively about 2008 campaign, Obama presidency as well as tumultuous 2010 campaign. John is also the author of the book titled in-depth series of articles about risk-takers. Prior to that, he had also written for New York Times, Men’s Vogue as well as Washington Post.

He has guest hosted the TV show Face the Nation for several of the times. He is also regular on the PBS’s Washington Week along with Gwen Ifill and has also made his appearance on Today Show, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News, the PBS News Hour, ABC’s This Week, Larry King Live, Nightline and the BBC. It was announced by Bob Schieffer on 12th April of the year 2015 that John would succeed him as the of the Face the Nation. Later on 7th June of 2015, he became the new host of the Face the Nation.
