Joe Penny is an American actor who is best known for his role in the detective series Riptide as Nick Ryder. Joe Penny has also appeared as Jake Styles for the CBS series 'Jake and the Fatman'.  He has appeared in more than dozens of TV film and series till date.

Joe Penny was born on 24 June 1956 in Uxbridge, London, England. His full name is Joseph Edward Penny Jr. He was born to an Italian mother and American father. Joe spent his childhood in Marietta, Georgia.

His parents got divorced when he was young then he started living with his mother in California. He attended the Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California. He was football and basketball player in his school.

Joe Penny is married since 2004 with his wife Cindy M. Penny. No information about his children or family can be found. He has the height of 6 feet.

Joe Penny started his journey with a minor role in a movie 'Forever Fernwood' in the year 1977. Joe Penny then started his appearance in several television series and movies filling his bio with many experiences. Later, Joe was seen in a Major role on Jake and the Fatman and Riptide.

After gaining huge appreciation from his work, Joe Penny then appeared as a guest on television shows like Vega$, CHiPs, Touched by an Angel, The Gangster Chronicles, Flamingo Road, Diagnosis: Murder, 7th Heaven, T.J. Hooker, Matt Houston, Boomtown, Archie Bunker's Place, Texas Ranger, CSI, Walker, Lou Grant, and The Sopranos.
