Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial is currently playing as a forward for the Manchester United. Being formed at Lyon, he was then transferred to the AS Monaco in the year 2013 for the fee of €6 million. After a couple of years, he joined the Manchester United for an initial of £36 million which is the highest salary paid for a teenager in the history of football. 

A native of Massy, France, Anthony Martial was born on 5th December of the year 1995 which has now made him at the age of 19. He is just at the end of his teenage but he has achieved a lot of success in his career. He is a tall guy with the height of 5 feet and 11 inches which is 1.81 m. according to the journalist Philippe Auclair, Anthony plays in a style which is similar to the former French International Thierry Henry with the speed as well as technical ability in both the wide positions as well as up front. Henry himself praised Anthony after his goalscoring debut.

As a youth, Martial spent his time in CO Les Ulis from the year 2001. In 2009 when he was just at the age of 14, he was spotted by the scouts from Olympique Lyonnais Academy and then e joined it in the same year. During the second season in the U-17 team, Anthony distinguished himself by making a score of 32 goals in the 21 games. It resulted in him in the call-up to France National U-17 Football Team for 2012 UEFA European U-17 Championship in Slovenia.

Later, Anthony got his professional debut for the Lyon on 6th December of the year 2012 in Europa League Group Stage match against the Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona replacing the goalscorer Yassine Benzia for final 10 mins of a 2-0 victory at Stade de Gerland. He then had his first Ligue 1 game on 3rd February 2013 against the Ajaccio when he came on as a substitute in 79th minutes for Richard Ghezzal in 3-1 loss.

Prior to that, AS Monaco announced on 30th June of 2013 that they had already signed Anthony for a three years contract for the fee of €5 million plus bonuses. The same year on 24th November, he made his first league appearance for a club when he was 17 years old.

Later, he extended the contract on 27th January 2014 until June 2018. He then scored his first goal in an European competition on 4th August 2015 in 4-0 home win over the BSC Young Boys in the third qualifying round of UEFA Champions League.

He is married to his wife named Samantha Martial and it is also known that the couple has a small kid together. Recently on 1st September, he completed his move to the Manchester United for £36 million potentially rising to the £58 million on four years contract with the option of another year.
