Alex Trebek is a five-time Emmy Awards winner for being the Outstanding Game Show host and has also been the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2006 and 2011 he was announced to be the recipient of Canada's Walk of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Additionally, Guinness World Records in 2010 listed Alex name in the world record for most episodes of a game show host with 6,829 at the time.

Alex Trebek is also very much active in National Geographic Bee in the United States and The Great Canadian Geography Challenge. In 2001 The American Foundation for the Blind awarded Alex Access Awards and in 2010 The Royal Canadian Geographical Society gave Gold medal for his contribution to the works related to geography
