Porter has had the opportunity of working with Senators including Mike Lee and Rob Portman. Starting March 2014, Rob Porter started serving as the chief of the staff for Senator Orrin Hatch.  After creating an impressive CV, he was able to work with President Donald Trump as the President's White House Staff Secretary from the January of 2017.  But after public allegations of domestic abuse from his two ex-wives, Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby, the 40-year-old Porter resigned from his post of White House staff secretary. President Trump himself commented that Porter had done a "very good job" while he was working at the White House besides him and wishes him well.
