Hill initiated her career in media from voluntary work located in Essex called EastWard Hospital Television, then she was seen as a presenter on BBC Essex at Katy's Capers, then she transferred to Nickelodeon channel. On 23rd June 1995, she became part of BBC TV's children program called Blue Peter and she left it on 19th June 2000. Due to her hard work and dedication, she has been able to win the Children's BAFTA Award (2000) of Best Presenter; it was for her dedication to Blue Peter. She then appeared in Blue Peter for one of the episodes which cast on 30th March 2010 which was a final program to feature a dog named Mabel. In the year 2004, she joined the Channel 4's reality Television show- The Games.
