Dara Khosrowshahi, 48, was born on 28th May 1969 in Tehran, Iran to a wealthy Muslim family and grew up in a mansion on the family compound. He is the youngest of the 3 children of Lili and Asghar (Gary) Khosrowshahi.  Khosrowshahi’s family escaped from Iran in 1978 just before the Islamic Revolution.
