Personal life
Taggart was born on August 27 1976 in Bradenton, Florida. He went to Manatee High School where he was a football player.
Later he switched to Western Kentucky University and became a star quarter for this university.
Taggart is a married man – he and his wife live together with three children: two sons (Willie Jr. and Jackson) and a daughter (Morgan).
Professional life
Willie Taggart began his career as a couch at Western Kentucky University (WKU) in 1999. When he became head coach WKU (2010-2012) was winless. In his last 2 seasons there, Taggart flipped the program upside down.
Then he transferred as Head Coach to University of South Florida (2013-2017). During his arrival his team was a treacherous 3-9. In a season itself, he posted a record of 10-2.
He left for Oregon after tutoring in Florida. Oregon (2017-2018) was 4-8 but after first full season he successfully put them back in bowl contention.
All these successes paved his path towards his dream job as HC in great Florida State University.
Taggart signed a six-year, $30 million deal to become head coach at FSU. He will be under contract until January 31, 2024.
