Tomas Berdych, born on September 17, 1985 in Valasske Mezirici, Czech Republic, is a professional tennis player. He belongs to Czech nationality and is currently based in Monte Carlo, Monaco. His father Martin Berdych was a train engineer and his mother Hana Berdychova was a doctor. He started playing at the age of five at the local tennis center in his hometown and by eight; he had won the top young boys of Czech Republic in Pardubice followed by Czech Republic U-12 Junior title. Thenafter, he moved to Prostejov to train more and with better coaches.
Howwever, he used to come back home frequently to meet his friends and family. Interestingly, Ivan Lendl used a tire iron to train him. His career highlight is winning Paris Masters in 2005 and reaching the final of 2010 Wimbledon Championships defeating top seed Roger Federer and Novak Djokovik.
