Sophie taeuber-Arp who was a Swiss artist, sculptor, painter as well as a dancer is consisted as one of the Most Important Artists of geometric abstraction of 20th century. She came into this world on 19th January of the year 1989 and she died on 13th January of 1943. At the time of her death, she was at the age of 53. She was the native of Davos, Switzerland. She went to get her education from the School of Applied Arts, St. Gallen. In 1912, she attended the School of Arts and Crafts and in 1916, the famous Leban School of Dance. She belongs to a Swiss nationality.

From the year 1915 till 1932, she belonged to Swiss Werkbund which was an organization whose members believed that applied arts could be used for creating an appropriate expression of technological age and in 1925, she served as the member of jury for exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs. During her lifetime, Sophie had participated in numbers of the group exhibitions. After her death, numerous of the exhibitions, some of which included the works by her husband were organized in both the Europe as well as America.

Moving on to her personal life biography, Sophie was a married woman. She was married to her husband named Jean Arp. It was in the year 1915 when Sophie met Jean Arp who was the Dada artist at the exhibition which was held in Tanner Gallery. Later, they tied their knot with each other on 20th October of the year 1922.

The pair were involved in multiple Dada events in Zurich. From late 1920s, Sophie has mainly lived in Paris as well as she had also continued experimenting with the design. In 1928, she along with Arp moved to the Meudon-Val Fleury outside the Paris. There, she designed their own house as well as some of the furnishings.
