Sian Williams : Personal life
Williams was born on 28th November 1964 in Paddington, London . She was born to Welsh parents and was raised in East Bourne, East Sussex.
She attended Oxford Polytechnic and earned BA in English and History. She later switched to University of Rhode Island in America.
Stunning Sian Williams is a married woman. In 1991 she married Neale Hunt, former director of advertisement firm McCann Erickson. They were blessed with two adorable sons.
Their marriage didn’t last long –after divorce, 2006, she married Paul Woolwich. They together have a son and a daughter with whom they happily live in London.
Sian Williams : Professional life
Sian William ,journalist, joined BBC Radio in 1985 as a reporter and producer. She used to work on Leeds, BBC local radio in Sheffield and Manchester. She used to work as editor for BBC Radio and Manchester and as special editor for BBC Radio 4's The World at One and PM programmes .
Williams joined BBC News 24 as an output editor. During screen-test for potential presenters , one applicant was not able to perform and William was asked to do her role. Her magnificent personality caught eyes of producer and she got opportunity to work with Gavin Esler in working hour 4pm to 7pm. She worked with the channel for nearly about 2 years and then joined Six O'clock News as Special Correspondent in 1999.
In 12th January 2001 she joined Darren Jorden as a relief presenter in BBC's Breakfast programme. She replaced Six O'clock News and One O'clock News. Williams covered for Raworth on the Six O'Clock News during her maternity leave, co-presenting with George Alagiah, The following year she reported from Sri Lanka and Thailand on the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and from Pakistan on the Kashmir earthquake.
She was confirmed as a lead female presenter of BBC Breakfast in May 2005 with Dermot Murnaghan and later with Bill Turnbull. Then she got a chance to join BBC Radio 4 and to co-present Saturday Lives.
She has been part of different shows outside news and current affairs world. These programs include The One Show, Big Welsh Challenge and City Hospital. She worked as reporter for Watchdog in 2010 and as a host in Your Money, Their Trick in 2013.
June 2014 gifted her an opportunity to be news presenter of Sunday Morning. After running show for 2 series she handed over to Naga Munchetty, June 2016.
On 5th November 2015 she left BBC and switched to 5 News as a new main presenter. She gave her first shot for 5 News bulletin on 4th January 2016.
