A talented as well as handsome hunk Shane West is an American actor, punk rock musician as well as a song writer who is widely known for portraying the character as Eli Sammler in a ABC family drama known as Once and Again, as Darby Crash in What We Do Is Secret, as Landon Carter in the A Walk to Remember, as Dr. Ray Barnett in NBC medical drama called ER as well as Michael Bishop in the CW spy drama called Nikita. At present, he is starring in WGN adventure/ historical/ fantasy drama called Salem as John Alden.

In the year 1998, Shane guest starred in several of the TV series which also includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also played the role of Mark Tapper in a stage production of the Cider House Rules. Shane West is a tall guy with the height of six feet and he is the native of Baton Rough, Louisiana, United States. He came into this world on 10th June of the year 1978 which has now made him at the age of 37. He is the son of Leah Catherine and Don Smith. His father is a drugstore owner whereas his mother is a lawyer. Although he is known by the name Shane West, as a child, he was named as Shannon Bruce Snaith by his parents Both of his parents were the musicians as well as they had their own punk bands. He was born as the eldest child among the three children. She also has a sister named Simone and a half-sister named Marli Ann. Later, his parents got divorced with each other in the year 1982 when he was just 4 years old.

Shane was influenced by his parents and he was grown up listening to the Clash, Blondie, The Jam, Elvis Costello and The Kinks. When he was 10 years old, he moved to Compton, California along with his sister Simone and their mother. Later, they again moved to the Norwalk, California. After that, when he was 15 to 16 years old, he moved to Los Angeles for pursuing his career in acting. He then struggled for a couple of years and lived at the house of his manager before he made his acting debut in 1995 by appearing in CBS drama called Picket Fences in season 4 episode 6 in which he played as Dave Lattimore.
