An English actress Sarita Choudhury is widely known for portraying the roles in Mira Nair directed feature films such as Mississippi Masala in 1992, The Perez Family in 1995 and Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love in 1996. Sarita first starred opposite to Denzel Washington in 1992 movie known as Mississippi Masala for which she had received her Screen Actors Guild card. Previous to that, she was working as waitress on Manhatta’s East Village and she was also working in same position to make the ends meet while the movie was in the theaters.
After debuting in the film Mississippi Masala, the film became an art house hit. After that,s he acted as Pakistani country western singer in the Wild West, as a Chilean maid who is raped in the adaptation of Bille August The House of the Spirits and as a lesbian mother in the Fresh Kill.
