An American political consultant Sandy Berger used to serve as United States National Security Advisor for the President Bill Clinton from 14th March of the year 1997 until 20th January of 2001. Previous to that, he used to serve as Deputy National Security Advisor for Clinton Administration from 20th January 1993 till 14th March 1997. Sandy was the native of Millerton, New York, United States. He came into this world on 28th October of the year 1945. He has recently died on 2nd December of the year 2015 when he was at the age of 70. The reason behind his death was cancer and he died in Washington, D.C. He was diagnosed from cancer for more than a year.

Moving on to his personal life biography, Sandy was already married. He was married to his wife named Susan Harrison Berger. The pair also has three children together with each other. Now, Sandy is survived by his family, wife and his children. Prior to that, he was awarded The Grand Cordon of the Order of The Rising Sun in November of the year 2015 by Japanese Government for his contribution to the promotion of strong as well as friendly relationship between United States and Japan particularly his role as the National Security Adviser to the President Clinton.

In addition to that, he had also provided the legal and commercial advice to Embassy of Japan in the Washington, D.C. One of the highest honors of Japan, it is awarded to the foreign heads of state, business leaders as well as diplomats. On 1st December of the year 2015, the World Food Program USA announced that they have given their inaugural Global Humanitarian Award to Samuel R. Berger in recognition of his decades of the leadership helping the families in need across the globe. Additionally, The World Food Program USA established Samuel R. Berger Humanitarian Fund that will support the humanitarian organizations as they work to eradicate the hunger around the world.

Berger went to get his education from the Webutuck High School and got graduated from there in 1963. He then earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Cornell University in 1967. In addition to that, he also earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1971 from the Harvard Law School. While his tenure at the Cornell, he was also the member of Quill and Dagger society along with Paul Wolfowitx and Stephen Hadley. Besides that, he was also active in Twitter and Instagram account.
