Ronnie Lee Milsap is a famous American country music singer and a pianist who was born in the year 1943, 16th January which makes his age 72 years at present; his exact height is not available but he looks fairly tall. He was one of the most popular performers since the 1970s. He is considered to be the only successful blind singer in the States. He was born in the city of Robbinsville which is situated in North Carolina. He was abandoned by his mother when he was an infant but he was raised by his grandparents in the Smoky Mountains until he was 5 years old. He was sent to Governor Morehead School which was in North Carolina and was for Blind. He lost the remaining vision in his childhood and his eyes had to be removed eventually. He was interested in music concerts since his childhood and this can be seen in his events where he used to pay tribute to the artists who inspired him the most which included Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis.
When he was seven years of age, his instructor started noticing his musical talents and later he started to study classical music and then formally learned some instruments and shortly after that, he mastered piano. After some years, he had already developed a passion for rock music and then formed a band along with some of his friends and named the band “the Apparitions”. He was awarded a full scholarship and then he went to Young Harris College which is situated at Young Harris, GA. Later, he made up his mind to start a career in music and in the early 1960s, he auditioned and played his first professional gigs.
He is remembered as one of the nation’s best and successful artist in spite of his disability. In the year 1993, he released an album named True Believer after leaving RCA for Liberty and this title was recorded in No. 30. He was married to Joyce Milsap in the year 1965.
In the year 2014, he announced that he would go on a final tour concert. He said that he had been blessed with numerous great songs and many wonderful memories and stories but he also said that he wanted to go out and play all the hits for the people who love music as much as he does.
