Robert Huth is a professional footballer who plays for Leicester City and the German national team. Born on the 18th of August 1984 in Beisdorf, East Berlin (then under East Germany), Huth plays as a center-back. With a tall stature of 6 feet 3 inches, Huth grew up in Berlin where his interest in soccer emerged. In 1997, he was a ball boy at the DFB-Pokal Finals that took place in his own city's Olympic Stadium. This right-footed player is 31 years of age.

Huth's career as a club footballer began by playing for the local teams VfB Fortuna Biesdorf and FC Union Berlin. He joined Chelsea in 2001 and made his debut at the age of 17. Making 20 appearance that initial season, an injury in the 2004-05 season halted him after 15 appearances for Chelsea. His dissatisfaction for being sidelined made him transfer to Middlesbrough on a five year contract only to be dragged by injuries for 6 weeks in 2006, 2 months of the 2007-2008 season and again in 2008-2009 season, after which he joined Stokes City in 2009 with a four-year contract.

He had a slightly better stint at Stokes City, marred only by a few FA suspensions for indecent behavior, and had a new three-year contract with Stokes City. With more injuries barring him from playing, he left Stoke City in June 2015 after making 188 appearances in six seasons. His contract to Leicester City was signed on the 2nd of February 2015, and again in June after the earlier contract expired. After joining Leicester, Huth has been part of the team retaining their Premier League status. Nigel Pearson (Leicester City's manager) has admitted wanting to keep Huth as a permanent player.

With a market value of $7.4 million and net worth at $12.46 million, Huth's salary per annum is $3.7 million.

Huth's international soccer career began quite early since he already was a member of the German national team having played at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. He first played for the German national senior team on 18th of August 2004 against Austria in a friendly match. At the Confederations Cup in 2005, Huth was one of the top choice central defender for Germany alongside Per Mertesacker. His first goal for Germany came in the same event, with Germany beating Mexico in an extra time game resulting in 4-3.

Sidelined due to erroneous defensive tactics from 2006 to 2008, Huth returned to the national squad after maintaining a superb form in club playoffs. His first match upon returning to the national team was a friendly against Switzerland on 20th March 2008. Unlucky, he suffered from a foot injury shortly after. Having represented Germany for 19 times, Huth has 2 goals to his credit.

Huth was investigated by FA in January 2015 for allegedly participating in a Twitter game of guessing the gender of people based on their sexually explicit photos. He apologized for this and also deleted his interactions and was fined $22,290.75 and banned for two matches by FA.
