Rex Ryan who is a head coach for buffalo bills in National Football League was born on 13th December of the year 1962. Rex is the native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, USA. He is the son of Doris and the former Buddy Ryan who was the head coach of Philadelphia Eagles as well as Arizona Cardinals. Rex is also fraternal twin brother of Rob Ryan who is a current defensive coordinator for New Orleans Saints. Their parents got divorced when they were at the age of two. Ryan used to aspire following the footsteps of his father from his younger age and he is now a professional football coach. He spent his youth time in Canada and after that he returned to United States while he was a teenager.
It was in the year 1978 when Rex was hired as defensive coordinator of Chicago Bears. He attended the Stevenson High School located in Lincolnshire. He then went on to study at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University located in Weatherford, Oklahoma. There, he also played for football team as the defensive end. He got graduated from there, in 1986. In addition to that, he was also inducted into the University’s Hall of Fame in 2011. He also attended the Eastern Kentucky University from where he earned a Bachelors of Science as well as a Master’s degree in the physical education.
After completing his graduation, he began to serve as the assistant coach on different of the teams at both college and professional level for 22 years. In 1999, he joined Baltimore Ravens at behest of their head coach Brian Billick. He spent his nine years with Baltimore. Rex became defensive coordination in 2005 and an assistant head coach in 2008. After that, he accepted the offer from Jets for the vacant head coach. During his tenure with Jets, he became well known throughout league for the outspoken manner, attitude and the success with Jets. He was later fired by Jets at conclusion of 2014 season. Two weeks after that, he again got the contract offer for coaching Bills. Ryan was tendered an offer by Buffalo Bills in 11th January of the year 2015 to serve as the head coach of the team. But the terms of contract has not been finalized yet.
Prior to that, Rex has also released his autobiography and the conversational about the football strategy which is titled as “Play Like You Mean It” which was co-written by Don Yaeger who is the former Sports Illustrated editor and who has also co-authored autobiographies of the former NFL Players Warren Moon and Walter Payton. It was published in spring of the year 2011 by Doubleday. In addition to that, Rex has also made his cameo appearance in Adam Sandler film titled That’s My Boy in which his role was a fan of Jets’ rival, the Patriots. The film was released on 15th June of 2012. Besides that, he was also involved in three-car accident in the eastern Pennsylvania on 14th January of 2013. A witness has stated that Rex ran his Ford Mustang through the red light and got collided with the other driver that caused unidentified driver to hit the third car.
To talk about his personal life, Rex has already got married. He is married to his loving wife Michelle whom he met at the Southern Oklahoma State. After accepting the position as graduate assistant at the Eastern Kentucky, Rex phoned to Michelle and proposed to her. She accepted the proposal and the couple exchanged their vows with each other in the year 1987. Rex has two children, both sons together with Michelle. Their sons are named as Payton and Seth. Currently, he is residing in Summit, New Jersey along with his family.
Apart from that, Ryan is now at the age of 52 and he has got a towering height of six feet and four inches. In the year 2009 Rex announced that he had been battling with the dyslexia for his whole life. He struggled reading and writing during his early years. He wasn’t formally diagnosed till the testing confirmed that her had disorder in 2007. He underwent the lap-band surgery at the NYU Medical Center in March of 2010. He also had repaired a hernia during procedure. After three weeks, he lost 40 pounds and as of the month July of 2012, he lost 106 pounds. Ryan also has got a tattoo in his arm that appears to be the tattoo of his wife wearing only a jersey of Mark Sanchez. Rex is active in social networking sites as well.
