Ray Liotta was born in Newark, New Jersey on 18 December 1954. He was adopted by Mary and Alfred Liotta at the age of six months. According to the wiki, both of his parents were an unsuccessful participant in the elections for local office as candidates. Ray's sister, Linda Liotta, was also adopted.
It is said that Ray met his biological mother in the 2000s and came to know that he also has five half sisters, a half brother, and a full sister.
Ray Liotta finished his schooling from Union High School in 1973 and graduated from the University of Miami in 1978 with a degree in Fine Arts. At college, he performed in musicals like Dames at Sea, Oklahoma, Sound of Music and Cabaret, during the first years of acting studies.
He was married to actress Michelle Grace from 1997 to 2004. They co-starred in the film The Rat Pack, where Liotta portrayed Frank Sinatra and Grace depicted Judith Campbell Exner. They have a daughter together. Ray Liotta later dated Catherine Hickland from 2007 to 2011.
Ray has been very fond of horse riding ever since he acted in the western movie Texas Rising, and has continued this as a “new hobby” of his.
Professional life
Ray Liotta has been professionally active since 1978. He was spotted by a casting agent which landed him in a commercial. Then later he got the role of Joey Perrini for a day time drama 'Another World', 1978 to 1981. He debuted as a film actor was in the 1983 film 'The Lonely Lady'.
Since then, he has appeared in many movies including Wild Hogs, The Details, NARC, The Iceman, Unlawful Entry, Something Wild, Article 99, Corrina Corrina, Turbulence, Muppets from Space, A Rumor of Angels, etc.
He was once rumored to act the roles of either Harvey Dent or the Joker in Batman, but he turned the role down. This isn't the first instance however of Liotta doing so, he reportedly turned down the offer to work in The Departed, being extremely busy with other commitments.
His intense and in-your-face type of acting is remembered most, and many agree that he is unparalleled in portraying negative roles that verge on the lines of insanity and psychopathy.
He also lent his voice for Call of Duty: Black Ops II video game in 2013. Liotta acted in one Broadway titled Match in 2004 and can be seen in two music videos: David Guetta's Lovers on the Sun (2014), and Ed Sheeran and Rudimental's Bloodstream (2015).
Awards
Ray Liotta has won an Emmy Award and has been nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards as well as Golden Globe Awards. Liotta was in the voice cast in the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, for which he was given the G-Phoria Award for Best Male Voice Performance.
For the same video game voice over Ray was awarded the Spike Video Game Awards for Best Performance by a Human.
