Pia Toscano who is an American singer came into the lime light after she was placed ninth on 10th season of the singing reality show known as American Idol. She was considered as a frontrunner in that competition and her elimination shocked the judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler. Some viewers and the media outlets described her departure as one of the most shocking eliminations in the history of American Idol. Previous to that, she auditioned for the show for four times. She made it through the Hollywood in 6th season but got cut during first day of Hollywood. In the year 2010, she auditioned for 10th season of the show in East Rutherford, New Jersey and she was put through to the Hollywood.
After her elimination from American Idol, she appeared on several of the talk shows. She also performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live with Regis and Kelly, Today as well as The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It was then announced on 5th July of the year 2011 that she had officially signed with the Interscope Records. Her debut single song titled This Time was premiered on 11th July and was released on 13th July. In addition to that, she also co-wrote the song titled as Wrecking Ball along with Steven Miller for Aubrey O’Day and it was released on 23rd April of 2012.
Pia is the native of Howard Beach, New York, United State. She came into this world on 14th October of the year 1988 which has now made her reach at the age of 27. She is the daughter of Pat Toscano and wife Jane Toscano. Her father used to work as corporate executive. Pia is of Italian descent. She started to perform in the talent shows when she was just 4 years old. By the time, she was nine, she had performed in local church production of Jesus Christ Superstar. In addition to that, she was official National Anthem singer at the middle school and she also performed at each event including the graduation. She attended the LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts and got graduated from there in the year 2005.
Prior to making her appearance in The American Idol, she used to work as a make-up artist as well as she was also a wedding singer in a band called Current Affair. Pia cites her musical influences as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Luther Vandross, Etta James and Celine Dion. Moving to her personal life biography, she is now engaged with her boyfriend named Jimmy R.O. Smith with whom she was dating for some period of time.
