Phil Griffin who is a president of the MSNBC which is the cable News of United States attended the Vassar College from where he got graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree in literature in the year 1979. Soon after the completion of his graduation, he moved to the Atlanta and began to work with the CNN during their early years. There, he worked primarily as the writer-producer-editor on the sports department. While working in CNN, he met as well as worked with Keith Olbermann who used to work there as a sportscaster.

After working several years with the CNN, he joined the NBC as a sports producer in the year 1983 for the Today Show. After that, he moved to the MSNBC in 1996. He had stated that the channel is the place to go for the progressives. He had orchestrated launch of the several shows of MSNBC which includes The Ed Show, The Rachel Maddow Show, Morning Joe and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Dennell. It was in July of the year 2008 when he was named as the president of the MSNBC. Since then he has changed the MSNBC dramatically. It has taken the liberal view under Phil Griffin.

Prior to that, Phil also served at the Cue Ball Group as an Advisor. In addition to that, he also serves as the senior vice president at the NBC News. He has maintained to keep his profile low, so there is no more information found about him.
