Peter Jok Sudanese nationality is a currently a senior for the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team. Peter Jok Present team represent the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. They have won Big Ten regular-season conference championships eight times. They are normally called Hawkeyes. He is a Sudanese who took refuge in the United Stated during the Second Sudanese Civil War

Kacoul Dut “Peter” Jok was born on March 30, 1994, in Khartoum, Sudan. His father was a general for the Sudan People’s Liberation Army. He died fighting the second Sudanese Civil War.

Peter Jok family ended up in Des Moines, Iowa on December 3, 2003, after going to Uganda and Kenya along with other Sudanese refugees escaping the war. Peter Jok has an older brother Dau and a younger one Jo Jo. 

He started playing basketball from fourth grade when one of his friends asked him to play for Greenwood Elementary School team. Till then he was only exposed to soccer.

Mike Nixon, who wanted to form the Amateur Athletic Union, noticed him during a recreational game. He didn’t even touch the ball in the entire game, though. He was then asked to and did join Nixon’s team. He won the Spiece Tournament title in grade seven. He got offers from college when he was in eighth grade.

He attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines for the first two years and then was transferred to Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. He was one of the top 10 recruits in the United Stated ranked by Scout.com.

He was also one of the 30 freshmen to attend Nike top 100 camps in St. Louise in 2010. He injured his knee during the camp. He continued to play as he didn’t know he was suffering from torn patellar tendon. He underwent surgery in 2011.

He doesn’t want to apply for early entry to NBA Draft to polish his college career.

According to stats by ESPN, Peter Jok has won three games out of five in March 2017.He is one of the most promising players of his age. He is now eligible for the NBA Draft but is not planning to go for it since he doesn’t want to skip his senior year in IOWA.

Peter Jok salary would turn six figures if he were to sign NBA Draft contract.
