His father William Patrick Muldoon II was a personal injury attorney of Irish descent whereas mother Deanna was a homemaker of Croatian descent. He went to a Jesuit Loyola High School of Los Angeles. After graduation, he attended the University of Southern California from where he graduated in 1991 as a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He also played tight end on USC Trojans football team in the University. Patrick Muldoon started his career with a television role of Matt on ABC sitcom ‘Who’s the Boss? The show in a way introduced him to the larger audiences but the fame was still miles away. His work was further followed by the TV series ‘Saved by the Bell’ and ‘Silk Stalkings’. In 1992, he appeared on a daytime soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives’ portraying the role of Austin Reed. He was just outstanding in the role that even after a 16-year of long hiatus he re-appeared on the show in 2011.
Muldoon debut on the silver screen came in the year 1993 with a movie ‘Rage and Honor II’. He then after playing the popular villain Richard Hart on Fox soap opera ‘Melrose Place’ from 1995-1996. His character was the longest recurring one in the show in terms of episodes and somewhere it brought him a step closer to the fans.
His second movie was a science-fiction action film ‘Starship Troopers’ in a role of Lt. Zander Barcalow.
