Born on 8th May 1989 in Queens, New York to a family of Deaf people (his grandparents, parents, and both brothers were all deaf by birth), DiMarco's was born with the name Nyle Thompson. After his parent's divorce, he was raised along with his brothers by his mother. Growing up in Frederick, Maryland, DiMarco graduated with a mathematics degree from Gallaudet University.
He currently lives in New York. Since he is deaf, he uses the ASL (American Sign Language) as his native language. He is also very good at lip reading as well as nonverbal communication. He is an American by nationality, who has been active since 2014. He has a handsome physical appearance of 6 feet 2 inches in height, his hair is of dark brown color while his eyes are blue in colour. He is currently managed by Wilhelmina Models in New York and was earlier managed by CESD Talent Agency in Los Angeles.
2013 was the year that saw DiMarco appearing in the indie-film In the Can that had ASL and subtitles in English. In Switched at Birth show on Freeform network in 2014 and 2015, DiMarco repeated his role as Garrett Banducci. For a year or so, DiMarco worked as a freelance model. He was then contacted by the producers of America's Next Top Model in 2015, based on what they saw on his Instagram profile. What they didn't know then was that he was deaf. Still, he went on to participate in the show and won the contest defeating Mame Adjei in the final season.
As of now, DiMarco is the only contestant who is deaf, and also the 2nd male to ever win the contest. Immediately after winning the contest, DiMarco was signed under Wilhelmina Models agency. It was announced on 8th May 2016 that DiMarco will be one of the celebrities competing on the Dancing with the Stars' Season 22, and he was subsequently partnered with Peta Murgatroyd. The first deaf contestant on this show had been Marlee Maltlin back in Season 6, DiMarco was the 2nd deaf person. DiMarco is also set to appear in a comedy series titled Difficult People.
