Nicole Scherzinger

In Kentucky State Fair’s Coca-Cola Talent Classic Contest, Scherzinger was crowned the first runner-up in 1996. In 1999, American musician Travis Meeks hired Scherzinger for their second studio album but ended up criticizing her despite knowing the fact that she is a great entertainer.

Nicole Scherzinger took her mother feedback went to audition WB’s reality show ‘Popstars’ in 2001. For the audition, she chose Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’. Nicole along with her four other friends grabbed a spot in the show and establish a girl group named Eden’s Crush.

In March 2001, they released their first album ‘Get Over Yourself’ which layer entered into Billboard Hot 100. The song was also placed in number one on Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. Their debut single entered the Billboard 200 chart. The group was later disbanded due to bankruptcy.

Nicole refused the golden opportunity to join Black Eyed Peas because of her then- boyfriend. In December 2002, she joined the X Japan band member on Yoshiki’s Violet UK project. For her live performance with Tokyo Symphonic Orchestra, she sang English version of ‘I’ll Be Your Love.’

In August 2003 Nicole visited Arista Records office, New York with a hope to get her own solo album. But her hopes were shattered following the citywide blackout protest.

Will.i.am recommended Nicole to Jimmy Lovine, producer of Interscope Records for a solo deal. She along with her other members auditioned for the record.

In September 2005, Nicole along with her girl group released their debut album ‘Pussycat Dolls’.  ‘Don’t Cha’ was their second album from PCD which successfully entered into Billboard Hot 100 placing at no. 2. The album was further preceded by hits like Buttons and Stickwitu. And Scherzinger reached the height of success.

In February 2006, Nicole Scherzinger contracted with Universal Music Publishing Group which would fund her future songwriting. She features on Avant’s ‘Lie About Us’ on her debut solo song which was released in July 2006. Her collaboration with Diddy for ‘Come to Me’ entered into US Billboard Hot 100. In late summer 2007 Scherzinger decided to release her debut studio album ‘Her Name Is Nicole’ which was later shelved. From the particular album, Nicole released four singles respectively titled ‘Whatever U Like’, ‘Baby Love’, ‘Supervillain’, and ‘Paukenikeni’, among this song ‘Baby Love’ was quite a success.

In February 2008, several celebrities including Scherzinger contributed to will.i.am’s ‘Yes We Can’ to encourage Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Nicole released her final album Doll Domination on September 23, 2008, and got herself a fourth spot on Billboard 200. Her singles ‘I Hate This Part’ and ‘When I Grow Up’ reached at number eleven and nine on Billboard Hot 100.

On January 18, 2009, on her way to Doll Domination tour, Scherzinger was offered to re-write the pop version of ‘Jai Ho’ for the film Slumdog Millionaire. Scherzinger was featured on A.R. Rahman ‘Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny), which caused a tiff within the group. The song was a huge hit in 17 countries and reached at no. 15 on Billboard Hot 100.

Scherzinger played ‘America the Beautiful’ at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. At the end of the tour, the girl group took hiatus to chase their solo careers. In December 2009, Nicole judged the first season of ‘The Sing-off’.

Nicole Scherzinger along with her dance partner Derek Hough won the 10^th season of Dancing with the Stars. On March 21, 20011, she released her solo album ‘Killer Love’ in the UK; however, the album failed to create a great impact on viewers. Her second single ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ peaked at no. 1 on UK Singles Chart while her other ‘Poison’ and ‘Right There’ reached no.3. Scherzinger who was appointed as co-anchor of The X Factor US grabbed the limelight after replacing Cheryl Cole as a judge. She re-released her Killer Love after adding four new songs to it.

Scherzinger made an appearance in Barry Sonnenfeld action movie Men in Black 3.   She also appeared as a judge on the ninth and tenth series of The X Factor UK mentoring the boys and girls category respectively.

Scherzinger signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment in January 2014. Later she contracted with RCA Records for a multi-album deal. In March 2014, she collaborated with Misguided, an online fashion retailer and designed 30-piece range.

In October she released her second studio album ‘Big Fat Lie’ and reached no.17 in UK Albums Chart for two weeks. Scherzinger also won the reality, comedy show ‘I Can Do That’ on June 30, 2015. She sang American national anthem at the opening ceremony of 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games. She was the co-host of many TV shows including ‘‘Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris’ and ‘Bring the Noise’.

Scherzinger mentored the boys’ category in thirteen series of The X Factor UK in which Matt Terry won the series. She voiced over Sina in the Walt Disney animated movie Moana. Scherzinger also appeared in the American ‘Dirty Dancing’. As per the close sources, Nicole Scherzinger is confirmed to join the judge's panel in The X Factor UK.

Nicole Scherzinger admires Whitney Houston and takes her as an idol.  Michael Jackson is her all-time favorite and takes him as the biggest idol.  She came in support of same sex marriage by posing for ‘Some People Are Gay, Get Over It’ T-shirt, a ‘Stonewall’ campaign.

Nicole Scherzinger re-recorded her ‘Don Cha’ for a computer game The Sims 2: Pets in Simlish. She attended the press conference of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro to promote her products which she had unveiled in April 2010. Scherzinger sang the new version of GoldenEye for a video game titled GoldenEye 007.   

In late 2009, Scherzinger was reportedly working with Andrew Lloyd Webber for ‘Love Never Dies’. She paid a tribute to ‘The Phantom of Opera’ as a part of its 25^th anniversary at a Royal Variety Performance on December 5, 2011.
