Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino was born on 2 March 1972 in Murphy, Argentina. Being the son of farm worker he wasn’t quite introduced with the game until he watched the FIFA World Cup in the year 1978. He then was very much fascinated by the game which made him more curious to learn the game. He has the height of six feet. 

No one can doubt the fact that Mauricio Pochettino's career success has overshadowed his information about personal life. We can find quite limited information about his wife and married life. Mauricio Pochettino has a family where he is married to Karina and has children named Maurizio Pochettino and Sebastiano Pochettino.  His wife Karina came in the news when he ban her from the White Hart Lane.

According to Telegraph, wife Karina is one of the biggest critics of Tottenham Hotspur. As the leader he could not resist the criticism coming from his wife then he banned her from the stadium. "Always when I arrive home because she was watching on TV, my wife says why this or why that? She always gives her opinion, but always after, never before. we lose – why play this? Why not that? Why not change? She is worse than you (the journalists)."

At the age of 14, Mauricio Pochettino's skill was detected by Jose Griffa, he then moved to Newell's Old Boys in 1987. The following year he got the chance to make his debut in the Primera Division which was the beginning of his professional career. Subsequently, he started his professional career together with Newell’s Old Boys moving to RCD Espanyol.

He entered to Espanyol in Spain for the 1994-95 season. Within no time he made his name as an established player, he spent his six and a half years playing for the club helping the team make through 2000 conquest of the Copa del Rey. In January of 2001, he signed for the Paris Saint-Germain FC. However, Pochettino returned to Espanyol and played till he wrapped up his playing career at 34.

Talking about Mauricio Pochettino's international career, Pochettino has represented Argentina U-23 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament in 1992 in Paraguay. He played 20 times for the country Argentina during his four years and he was also a participant in 2002 FIFA World Cup making his appearance in three complete matches as nation exited in the group stage. In the second game against the fierce rivals England, an Italian referee Pierluigi Collina saw Mauricio bring down Michael Owen in the box.

Pochettino called Guardiola's comment 'Harry Kane Team'  as "disrespectful"  to the club following Chelsea win on October, 2017, Gaurdiola responded it as misinterpreted. 

Mauricio Pochettino has his own history, now being the manager of the Tottenham he earns a massive amount of money. When he renewed his contract with the club again he made a deal worth around £5.5m a year. And he will be bind by the deal till 2021.

 The team he is the manager of has the value of $1,058 million i.e. £828 million.

Pochettino started his managerial career in La Liga in 2009 in Espanol with an assignment to prevent relegation. He successfully played a draw with Pep Guardiola's Barcelona in his first game finishing in the middle table with comfort.

In January 2009, he became the third coach of Espanyol in the 2008-09 season with side ranking third from bottom. He remained with the team until 2012. It was later announced on 18 January 2013 that Pochettino would be new first-team manager of Premier League club Southampton. The post he held made him the second Argentine manager of the English football after Osvaldo Ardiles.

He coached 9 of his own teammates at the Espanol and he spent three years before terminating the contract with the club in 2012. 

He started as a head coach in English Premier League Club Southampton on 18 Jan 2013 as Nigel Adkins successor. His shared a point with Everton in his first game after a draw and eventually recording his first win against the top club Manchester City. He finished the club at the 8th position following season securing highest point since the start of the premier league.

Pochettino became the 10th manager of Spurs in 12 years finishing fifth in the league. He led the team to the final of League Cup, but they were beaten by Chelsea. He promoted the players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli to the first team.

In 2016, they handed the premier league title to Leicester City after playing draw with Chelsea.The head coach gained a new title "Club Manager" after resigning the contract until 2021 with the club.

Mauricio declined the rumors about his linking with clubs Like PSG and Real Madrid after a very good performance in against Real Madrid in 2017 UEFA Champions League.
