Lester Holt : Personal Life
Lester Holt was born on the 8 March 1959 is the native of United States of America. He was raised in Marin Region, California. His mother is June Holt and father is Lester Wear Holt, Sr. His origins were not from the United States, they were mainly from Jamaica of half English and half Indian descent. He belongs to the community of black race and has the height of 1.87 m. He is of African-American ethnicity.
Lester Holt completed his high school from Cordova High School located in Rancho Cordova in 1977. He got enrolled at California State University, Sacramento even though he made a plan to graduate majoring in Government he never finished his university education. He revealed that his first job was as a disc jockey in Country and Western station.
Lester is a family man, he is married to wife Carol Hagen and is currently living in Manhattan with his two kids, Stefan and Cameron. He son Stefan Holt is also involved in the broadcasting area. He presents in his father's Nightly News after he decided to join WNBC. Before he was a news anchor for the morning show of NBC's WMAQ-TV in Chicago.
Lester Holt : Professional Life
Lester Holt first entered into the broadcasting industry working for CBS in 1981 as a reporter for WCBS-TV. He worked there for 19 years. The second-year so joining CBS he was shifted to KNXT located in Los Angeles and again to the WCBS-TV the third year. Later he moved to WBBM-TV in Chicago where he continued working 14 years for evening news show as an anchor.
Leaving CBS, Laster Holt joined MSNBC in 2000. He was given the responsibility of handling the duties at NBC News and also became the substitute anchor for NBC Nightly News and Today in 2003. After the death of co-anchor David Bloom, he became the full-time co-anchor for Weekend Today. With his appreciable works, he succeeded John Seigenthaler and became the first African-American anchor of the NBC Nightly News on 9 May 2007.
During the time he worked for the NBC he was also seen on The History Channel which was about the 9/11 conspiracy theories. Additionally, in NBC, he also covered the 2008 Summer Olympics for NBC Sports. In the same year, he also narrated a documentary about the actual crystal skulls on the Sci-Fi Channel. In 2015 he became the permanent NBC Nightly News anchor.
